Information Technology
The course will be taught in two semesters at this level which will be run for 960 hours in two six-month periods. The course will focus on application of knowledge acquired during the certificate level. Here the students are expected to apply the underlying international law and principles of International Relations; and able to exhibit their research skills.
At the end of this Unit, students will be able to:
1. Understand and use basic arithmetic concepts
2. Understand and communicate in English fluently
3. Identify and explain the different components of a computer system
4. Understand key word processing terms and concepts; and create technical/business documents using word processing software
5. Identify key spreadsheet terms and concepts; and produce responsive spreadsheet solutions using a spreadsheet software
6. Identify key database terms and concepts; and design and Implement a mini database application using a DBMS software
7. Understand and explain key concepts in networking and the internet
WASSCE: 3 credits including Mathematics and English plus two passes in the relevant area or its equivalent. Completion of the certificate level
Matured students: must be 35 yrs and above or 3 years working experience
